Getting Started

This page will prepare your system for Ultimate Skyrim.

Approximate time for total installation: 2 - 7 Hours

Approximate Time for "Getting Started" Operations: 30 minutes

US requires Skyrim Classic with all DLC's, otherwise known as Legendary Edition.

NOTE: Ultimate Skyrim is not yet compatible with Special Edition!

 

If you're unsure or confused about any portion of the guide,

please visit the Ultimate Skyrim Subreddit or Discord for support!

 

Make sure to read ALL instructions very carefully. This process is simple, but delicate.

If you are feeling tired, it's better to take a break than to miss important information.

Before we begin, make sure you have the latest version of 32-bit Java installed.

You'll also need an archive manager, such as WinRAR.

TES5Edit

Ultimate Skyrim .ini Files (now hosted on Nexus)

Mod Organizer 1 Legacy (now hosted on the MO2 page under Misc Files)

NOTE: Do NOT download MO2 instead. MO2 is not yet compatible with US.

Okay, we're ready to roll! The video below contains all the info you'll need

to prepare your Ultimate Skyrim installation.

 

NOTE: The video will prompt you to create a "Utilities" folder inside your Skyrim directory,

but this may cause errors with Windows' permission settings.

 

When directed to create "Utilities", consider placing it in the root of your hard drive instead.

Once your system is configured, it's time for the heavy lifting.
